The Fleet Maintenance Division maintains all OPFD equipment. The equipment list ranges from a heavy-duty fire apparatus to smaller equipment such as a chainsaw. All equipment is inspected daily by assigned personnel. Any equipment deficiencies found are reported to the Fleet Maintenance Division for proper repair. OPFD mechanics are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) and EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certified. Each equipment category has a preventive maintenance program along with required testing schedules assigned. The equipment used by OPFD personnel must be in proper operating condition and ready to go at a moment’s notice. The Fleet Maintenance Division ensures all equipment is response ready.
